Reboot is being made, there's some cool retro 3d Captain Marvel posters, and

Waddup to my Peoples
and welcome to RETRO CRUNCH. Your
Nostalgia channel where we talk about current news that relates to ALL things
RETRO.
Tom and Jerry.. Awesome cartoon, has pretty much been on TV since 1940 and
to this day is still one of the favorite cartoons among 80s and 90s kids.
There's been 14 Tom
and Jerry movies since 1992, but Tom and Jerry: The movie was the only one that
ever got a Theatrical movie release in 1992.
All The rest were straight to video.
But in an update to
the Live-Action Tom And Jerry movie news I dropped a few months ago. Ill link to that news right up here…
Warner Brothers has
finally revealed that the so far UNTITLED Tom and Jerry movie will be released
on April 16th, 2021.
There's also mention
that it is going to be a hybrid animation and live-action movie. But this makes me wonder.
Are we going to see
something like what was done with Space Jam, where Michael Jordan was real, but
all the cartoon characters were animated, or will it be a mix of CGI and
cartoon animation.
Id actually like to
see both. Maybe start the movie where
tom and jerry are in a cartoon, but when they get pulled into the REAL world,
they are life like with some good CGI animation.
Would be cool to see
in a Tom and Jerry movie.
What do you think??
The other thing that
hasn't been announced is, who will be starring in the movie. Im sure it will be a well known actor,
whether they play a bad guy or friend..
Maybe a Camron Diaz, or a Will Smith..
Common Warner
Brothers.. Enquiring minds, wanna know!!
Then next up. It was announced last year that were getting
a remake of the 1984 classic Night of the Comet, but at that time - there
wasn’t much news on the project.
And if you haven't
seen this movie. It centers around a
couple of girls that survive a comet that crashes in California and they
discover they are the only survivors, and everyone else is now Zombies.
Its campy, but has a
lot of funny one liners and I must have watched it a hundred times over summer
break when I was a kid.
Well, during an
interview with the director Roxanne Benjamin this week at the SOUTH by
SOUTHWEST festival in Austin - she said they finished the script. She didn’t mention WHEN she plans to start
working on this movie, but I guess it’s a start.
If you remember
Night of the comet, let me know about it in the comments.. I know I cant be the only one who loved this
cheezy flick growing up.
Then if you remember
looking at those Magic Eye books and posters from the 1990s. Well, in a throwback promotion on Captain
Marvels twitter, they posted 5 of those
magic eye illusions.
Man those things
drove me nuts. Id usually see them in
the Mall or sometimes on a friends wall in their bedroom. They were fun tho.. For a bout 5 seconds, then when you see the
3d illusion your all like.. Ahhhh… ok..
Then on to our Retro
