Saturday Morning Cartoons Are Back!?!?

If you were born in the 70's, 80's, or 90s.. You most definitely miss seeing Saturday Morning
Cartoons, or you wish your kids had a chance to enjoy them.

Well, I have a plan that would have Netflix, Amazon, and HULU help fix the Saturday Morning Cartoon problem, once and for ALL!! And  were gonna talk about how to bring Saturday Morning Cartoons BACK, Coming Up!

We haven't had a descent cartoon lineup of the old 70s, 80s, and 90s cartoons in many years, and
so many generations are missing out on this fun, and there's just really no reason for it.

Saturday Morning Cartoons from the late 60's through the mid 1990's were some of the most prized and enjoyed hours spent by children every Saturday.

Each Saturday Morning, From about 7am to sometimes near noon, all that was on ABC, NBC, CBS,
and FOX, was Saturday Morning Cartoons.  And long gone are the generations of kids running to the living room TV's in their underoos to catch all those wonderful shows and savor hours of programming geared just toward them.

Unfortunately, like the prize at the bottom of the cereal box, network cartoon blocks have totally
disappeared.

So, your probably wondering? Where does Netflix, Amazon, or HULU fit into all of this? Well, interestingly enough, some great Saturday Morning shows that we all grew up with just happen
to already be on NETFLIX, AMAZON, and HULU.  N    A   H   for short.   or  as I like to call them, NAAAHHHH..

The problem with the 3 bohemiths of NAH is that they have lots of the old cartoons on their Web
Streaming Services, BUT.  they aren't showing continuous cartoon programming from early morning to NOON, back to back.

And that’s why I am here to  call out NAH to do something about that!

What I would like to see NAH do is create a lineup of cartoons for the 70s, 80s, and 90s that start at 8AM and end at 11AM, only on Saturdays.  According to your TIMEZONE of course.. :)  No starting over, no pausing, just 3 straight hours of Saturday Morning  Cartoon Greatness.

Sounds simple right?  Keep the hours short and sweet, with a good lineup of shows, that all the generations loved! And to make it easy to start right now..   NAH  could start with the shows they already have.
Lets take NETFLIX for example.  They already have a bunch of 80s cartoons available to watch; they just need to create a single program lineup that has 6-9 different cartoons back to back.

Like one long running episode.   And if you wanted to be crazy, maybe even throw in some of the OLD commercials in-between each episode.

As a test, NAH could start with just the 80s cartoons for now, and create a line up to see how it
goes, and then they could move on to creating a Saturday Morning channel for the 70s, 90s, and even the 2000's.

So, then..  each generation can log into their preferred Streaming service, select their favorite Decade, and watch the Saturday Morning cartoons that they grew up with.

Lets take a look a what a NETFLIX lineup would look like. For a 80s Saturday Morning Cartoon channel:

From 8-9, we could have HEMAN, SHE-RA, and the CareBears

Then from 9-10, it could be JEM and the holograms, The Real GhostBusters, and the Super Mario
Brothers Show.

Then at 10, we'd have Danger Mouse, Robotech, and then some wrap-up 80s commercials.

Eventually, it would be nice for NETLIX or one of the big 3 to acquire enough cartoons to fill 5 full hours of programming, from 7 to NOON.  Then  we could see shows like The Smurfs, Super Friends, M.A.S.K., Speed Racer, Rocky and Bullwinkle and tons more.

OK, I get it N.A.H., these are lofty goals, and it would take a lot of work to acquire some of these
cartoons; but you would probably bring in a ton of subscriptions to your service.. So, think about it.

But don't get me wrong my peoples - N.A.H. has been doing more for Nostalgia and RETRO lovers
than most of the Cable providers have been doing combined, so props to them. I just expect more
from them, cause I know NAH can give more…

So, with that said.  This was just one mans rant  to 3 Bohemith's that will probably go on deaf
ears, but hey, it was worth a shot!  And
the worse they can say is NNNNAAAAHHHHH…

Alright, my Retro Family - Be sure to share this video with your friends and family, so we can
make sure NAH knows we'd really like our Cartoons back!

This could make a huge impact on getting Saturday Morning Cartoons back in the living room every
morning!

Corey Feldman's Attack On Hollywood

Hey! Were gonna talk about Corey Feldman's Truth Campaign in light of his recent accusations against
some of the Hollywood Elite, also were going to talk about the Magnup PI
Reboot, and tons more Retro News coming up!

Waddup to my Peoples!

Welcome back to RETRO CRUNCH, your nostalgia news show that is all about Current Pop Culture,  Movies,  Music,  and Games that relates to all things 70s, 80s, and 90s!

So, unless you’ve been under a rock lately, you've heard all the drama surrounding the famous 80s
actor, Corey Feldman's intent to oust the Movie industry that seems to be riddled with perverts and pedophiles.

This isn't the first time Corey has tried to let the public know about the pedophilia activity that’s been going on in the Entertainment industry.

Back in 2013, in an interview on "The View" with Barbara Walters, Corey stated that as children, he and Corey Haim  were sexually abused and he went on to say:

"There are people that were the people that did this to both me and Corey that are
still working.  They're still out there, and they are some of the richest most powerful
 people in the business."

Right after his statement, Barbara Walters cuts him off and said.  "Your damaging an entire
 industry."

Im a little bit in shock right now, because before researching this story, I never knew about this interview and the only thing I saw about Corey on TV recently was when he did a performance with his band on The Talk, and even they were very critical of him and his band.

Well, Corey just put out a YouTube video on October 25th expressing his concerns about the pedophilia problems and that he is intending to raise money in a indiegogo campaign and make a documentary to expose the people that sexually abused him and Corey Haim as children.

In the video he explains that after him coming out about his plan to identify the pedophiles to
the public, in the last few days he has been chased by cars, some band members have left his band in fear of their lives, and he needs to raise funds to protect him and his family during the filming of the documentary.

He also talks about how he wants to do this for the 1000's of children that he knew were also are
n this environment that have also been sexually assaulted.

And to that I say to Corey - just do it .  If you really do care about stopping this, as it seems you do you just need to come out and tell the public who the perverts are, what they did to you, and do not give the media and these pedophiles the time to prepare for your movie's revelations.

Starting a campaign and taking this long drawn out approach to dealing with this issue is not the right way to go about it.

I truly think Corey has good intentions and he is just trying to take what he thinks is the best approach to resolving this sickness that’s infested Hollywood.

Were not in his shoes, but I do think the best thing to do is just oust those sick bastards and be done with it.

So, what do you all think about Corey finally deciding to let the world know about who sexually assaulted him.  Are you glad he's talking about this.  I'd really like to know what you think about whats going on.
Lets talk about it in the comments section down below.

Also, Im going to link down below to his youtube video that talks about this further, as well as his indiegogo campaign in case you'd like to help him raise the funds he needs for the documentary.

And now, lets move onto some TV news.

The latest show in the Reboot craze is Magnum P.I.

The reboot is being written by Peter Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim.  Peter was involved in the Hawaii 5-0 reboot along with Macgyver, so hes no stranger to rebooting a series.

Magnum PI first premiered in 1980 and ran for 8 seasons.

The new show will be an updated version of the original, where Thomas Magnum is a decorated ex-Navy
SEAL who after returning home from Afghanistan, has decided to use his military skills to become a private investigator.

The premise is that Magnum will have a team of other ex military that join him in solving crimes for people that have no one else to turn to.

Also, the show will delve into their lives and explore the brotherhood forged by combat and how a veteran deals with returning to the civilian side of life after war.

The show will be on CBS, which is also the same station that Tom Selleck's current show Blue Bloods is on, so we could possibly see him on the show as a cameo, if the project does make it to production.

Reboots are still going strong this late into 2017 and there seems to be no stopping them.

In fact, some other reboots currently in the works are:
Nancy Drew, Roswell, True Lies, The Jetsons, The Munsters, Starsky and Hutch, and even Party of Five.

Are there any reboots you'd like to see remade?  Let me know which ones in the comments section down below.

And probably my favorite news of the day is that there's a new Batman Animated movie that just came out.

And this just happens to be Adam Wests final role he played in before his death.

The movie is called Batman vs. Two-Face and whats really awesome about this animated movie is that

Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar are reprising their roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman from the 1966' Batman series.

The series was just released on DVD and Blu Ray on October 17th, so if you loved the old 1966' Batman, you have to check it out.

And then I wanted to remind everyone as if you don’t already know.  Stranger Things 2 is now out on NETFLIX!  I haven't started watching it yet, but this weekend Ill be binge watching the whole series!

I'm excited to find out what happened to 11, and also see what cool Nostalgia we will see in this new season!

And then I justwanted to take a moment and recognize two great artists that we lost this last
week.

The first is Fats Domino, who at 89 years old, passed away on October 24th.  He was an amazing musician and singer and some say he was the real king of rock and roll.

The next is Robert Geyamme, who played Benson on the 70's show SOAP died at the age of 89 as well.  I didn’t really watch him on SOAP, but I did love his show BENSON. Both of these guys were great entertainers and were going to miss them.

And on a personal note - I want to say is that I've really been enjoying all the comments and conversations with you all.  I appreciate the support you all are giving me with the Retro Crunch channel and I just wanted
to let you all know that I appreciate you for giving me some of your time when
theres so much stuff on youtube to watch.

And that’s all the retro news I have for you this week.

Theres a Grinch Halloween Prequel Special - Review

Halloween is Grinch Night is the name of a Halloween TV Special that actually came out in 1977,and although it came out after  How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Seussville.com states that this movie is actually the prequel.

According to Wikipedia and IMDB, It won the 1977 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, but I did some research and wasn’t able to find any credible evidence that it was even nominated.

The special did premiere on ABC, back in October 29th, of 1977 and continued to air seasonally, on through the 1980's and was then released on VHS in 1989.

But enough about the History.. Lets get on with the story!

The story starts off near Whoville, during a night called "Grinch Night", which started when a "Sour-Sweet Wind" blows and sets off a chain of events that get the GRINCH really annoyed to the degree that the Grinch wants to go down to Whoville to terrorizing the Whos.

As the story starts, the Sour-Sweet Wind is just starting to blow when the main character Euchariah, goes to use the outdoor crapper, but is swept away to Mt. Crumpit by the wind.

On the road he encounters the Grinch, who is busy picking Brickles out of his rear after failing to hunt down the "Wuzzy Woozoo".

He's also got his dog Max with him, who is in the process of bringing a large wagon — called the
"Paraphernalia Wagon" — down to Whoville.   You'll see later why it's called a Paraphernalia Wagon..

Euchariah sees the Grinch on the road, decides to keep the Grinch from reaching Whoville by stalling him.   On the first two occasions the Grinch  dismisses him by saying that Euchariah "isn't worth a first-class Grinching," but after Euchariah's persistence, the Grinch decides that he's had enough of the little Who and invites him to take a closer look at the Paraphernalia Wagon.

When Euchariah does so, the Grinch opens up the wagon and a cloud of green smoke with Grinch-like eyes emerges and ensnares him.  Inside the wagon, Euchariah is confronted by some creepy acid trip type hypnotic monsters and psychedelic visions and also the Grinch's mocking voice.

Though scared to death, Euchariah somehow manages to stay sane long enough for the Sour-Sweet Wind to die down, thus forcing the Grinch to pack up and retreat to his cave.

This is probably the weakest part of the whole story, even though they explained that since the noises that were annoying the Grinch died down, he decided to go back home.  What a Wuss.

But the one kicker here is that, Max on the other hand, who had been abused and overworked by the Grinch, goes home with Euchariah.  I get it.  The Grinch treated you like crap, but to just take off with out a goodbye or anything. That’s cold.

And this tripped me out, because in the sequel, MAX is back with the Grinch in The Grinch Who Stole
Christmas, so you can only assume that MAX may have been treated better with the Grinch than Euchariah.  Makes ya wonder why MAX might have been treated so badly now.  First he abandons  his master.

Then Oooooooooo  , he finds out life aint so good on the other side, and then decides to grovel back to the Grinch.   Startin' to see a patern here.

Anyways..

Back in Whoville, the residents celebrate  Euchariahs courage in preventing the Grinch from releasing the Paraphernalia Wagon's full horrors on their town.

But in all honesty, if you pay attention to how happy and zonked out those Who's look, I'd be surprised if they weren't already getting some regularly provided "Pharmaceutical goods" from the Grinch all along.

And to end the story..

Up in the mountains the Grinch, who is hauling the wagon home himself, ominously notes that one day soon the Sour-Sweet Wind will blow once more, and it will be Grinch Night all over again.

And indeed it would be..  But that story is or another day..

MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA…..

Will AtariBox Be Worth Buying?

Hey! Were gonna talk about the new AtariBox pricing and specs, also The Roseanne Show is now in production and we have the scoop on that, and theres a ton more Retro News coming up!
Waddup to my Peoples!
Welcome back to RETRO CRUNCH, your nostalgia news show that is all about Current Pop Culture, Movies, Music, and Games that relates to all things 70s, 80s, and 90s!
Alright Alright Alright.. Finally, ATARI has put out some real news on its upcoming AtariBox and quite frankly, im a bit on the fence about it.
The price for the console is going to start at somewhere between 250-300 dollars, and this price point coincides with that of the current price on the Nintendo Switch and the Playstation 4.
According to AMD's CEO Lisa Su, she said in a tweet that they are working a deal with Atari on building the AMD chip and Radeon graphics card that the ataribox will use.
This is good news, and at a 250.00 price point, we can probably anticipate a 6 to 8 core CPU and most likely a mid range GPU.
Also, The AtariBox will be using a Linux Operating System, much like that of the STEAM console, and this opens up a lot of opportunities for the system, like possible online gaming and playing modern game titles.
According to Atari, the console will double as a entertainment device thanks to SD card support, USB and HDMI ports and Ethernet connectivity.
This will enabling consumers the ability to stream videos, music, browse the web, and launch apps.
They also stated that the console will launch with a large back-catalog of Atari classic games, and be coupled with the ability to play games like Minecraft, but they havent stated what modern game titles it will be capable of, so this is an important question.
Im excited to learn more, especially when the release date is, and I'd like to get a look at what the joystick controllers will look like.
What do you guys think? Will it be more like the 2600 model or will they go with a modern Xbox controller style? Let me know in the comments section down below.
And onto some Entertainment News.
The Roseanne revival is coming in 2018, and we have some photos to show of the cast at their read table, in what im assuming is the group reviewing their lines for the upcoming first few episodes.
Theres a lot of the old faces and even a few new ones that we have not seen before.
Some newcomers to the cast are Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, and Emma Rose Kenny, who will play the daughter of darlene and david.
And speaking of David, he wasn’t at the reading, but according to ABC, they are still in the works on trying to bring him back for the show.
John Goodman was there though, so it does appear that they are basically going to ignore the whole season finale death.
Some people may be a bit annoyed about the continuity of the show being affected, but most will just be happy that the show is back.
October 18th marked the 29th anniversary of the show, and I wouldn’t be surprised if ABC is slating for it to return on the same day in 2018.
And up next in some Retro Fashion news, Tommy Jeans is returning with a new 90s collection from its Tommy Jeans clothing line.
The collection goes back to those bright color combinations of red, white, and blue with a touch of yellow and green.
It’s a blast from the past, and for those that loved the Tommy clothes, will enjoy checking out their swag. Ill link to their site down below for you retro fashion fans.
And last up, that old show Supermarket Sweep which was popular in the 1960's and 70s is being revived and returning to television.
Its had a few revivals over the decades, and this is just one more retro show that’s back due to nostalgic demand.
And that’s all the retro news I have for you this week.

AOL Instant Messenger is Shutting Down

Today, were going to start the show off with some RETRO Tech news!
America On-Line, which is better known as AOL has decided that it is shutting down AOL Instant Messenger.

The messenger app, better known as AIM was created in 1997, and was one of the first messenger programs introduced during the early ages of what we consider the Internet.
AIM was initially used on the World Wide Web and required your clunky desktop computer to connect using a dial-up connection that tied up the phone line.
AIM helped usher in a new way to use the internet as not just a place for information, but also a way to hang out online.

The product had earned a coveted spot in pop culture by making cameos in You've Got Mail and Sex and the City. But that alone wasn't enough to save the IM service.
With smartphones on the rise about 10 years after its creation, people were moving on to other messaging apps like Facebook and twitter to keep in touch and apps like AIM and ICQ had been on the decline ever sense.

This is just one more result of old tech companies not keeping up with the internets changing world, so with that I say to AOL Instant Messenger, REST in Peace.
Then, also in tech news. Looks like Lenovo is unveiling a new Thinkpad to honor its debut 25 years ago.
The ThinkPad was initially created by IBM in 1992, but the over-all design is very similar to the retro-classic one.

It will have the rubberized coating, a TrackPoint, and lots of colorful status LEDs.
Lenovo is only making a limited run and the laptop will run you almost 1900 dollars, so it may be something that only the loyal ThinkPad fans might buy.
And then, looks like the Tomagachi is back, yet again.. And on November 5th, Bandai America will be releasing it in stores. Its going to be 60% smaller than the original and will run you 14.99 for this new version.

I never had one in the 90s, but some people really loved these little living digital creatures.
And onto some TV news.
Apple is working with Steven Spielberg to reboot the old TV show Amazing Stories.
This show originally ran on NBC from 1985 to 1987 and was a fantasy, horror, and sci-fi television series.
It had some great stories, but even won some awards.

The new show will be one of Apples tries at competing with the likes of Netflix and Huluand of course, try and capture some of the Nostalgia lovers market, which Netflix has done very well at with shows like GLOW and Stranger Things.

And also, for the HEY ARNOLD animated tv show lovers. This show that started back in 1996 and continued through 2004 has a new Movie coming out that will air on November 24th on Nickelodeon.
Its suppose to pick up where the series ended and resolve the unanswered plotlines of the story have a quest to find out what happened to Arnolds Parents.

Then theres a new trailer for HULU's new show Future Man, which follows a janitor slash hardcore gamer that is drawn into time travelling to save the future of humanity.
This one looks good and is sure to have some awesome time travel.

One cool scene I saw was where the main character introduces the moonwalk to a bunch of party goers and it seems that the move makes its way to Micheal Jackson, which is where he gets the idea for the Moonwalk.

The Commodore 64 mini is coming soon!

First thing I want to cover is the announcement of the Commodore 64 Mini coming in 2018.
Launched in 1982, the Commodore 64, or as most call it, the C64. Was a hugely successful home computer in the 1980s.
Millions of units were sold across the world and it was a favorite among computer, gaming, and BBS enthusiasts back in the day.
Well… At least until the post ATARI console gaming craze began in 1985 with a little console called the Nintendo Entertainment System.
But, I digress.. The c64 system will be about 50% smaller than the size of the original, according to thec64.com and will cost a mere $70.00.
This new console computer will feature high-deffinition HDMI output, a classic style joystick and 64 built-in games including classics like Uridium, Paradroid, Hawkeye, Nebulus and Monty Mole.
It will also feature 2 USB ports, so you can plug in 2 joysticks or even a keyboard and use it as a computer system for programming or playing with the OS.
I'm very interested in the system, since I heard so much about it growing up. I never owned one myself, since I had the famous TANDY 1000 EX at the time.
Which in my opinion was the holy grail of computers for the time.. But we'll talk about that on another episode.
But, what do you all think? Did you own a c64 growing up, and if so, are you looking at buying this mini, or even waiting on the full size version to come out?
I'd like to know what you think - lets talk more about it in the comments down below.

And next, lets switch over to some retro movie news!
According to Variety.com. The 1986 classic, Flight of the Navigator is being reboot.
This movie is about a 12 year old boy named David, who disappears in 1978 and travels 8 years into the future after an interesting adventure with a wisecracking alien ship.
Although this movie was one I did like as a kid, it's definitely not one I'd say is off limits to a reboot.
The movie first came out in 1986, and although it had a descent turnout in its first weekend, making about 3 million, It only made 18 million in total at the Box office.
Which isn't exactly bad, but its not something id write home about. But still - I hope the reboot does better than the original.
And next, I wanted to let you STRANGER THINGS fans know that they made a cool mobile game that you can pick up on both Android and Apple iOS phones.
The game is great fun, and if you liked the early adventure titles like Legends of Zelda, you will like this game as well.
The first chapter is titled "The Lost Boys" and takes you into Hawkins National Laboratory, where you tackle puzzles and enemies with Hopper's power punch
You'll get a chance to play as multiple characters from the show, including Lucas and Nancy. Ill link to the article on the game in the description down below.
And Next up is the RETRO FLASH! Where I cover the news we didn’t quite get to.
And first on the list is that Tom Petty just Passed away at the age of 66 years old.

He will be remembered for famous songs like Mary Jane, Don’t Come Around Here No More, and my favorite Free Falling.
66 is just too young to die, and my heart goes out to his family.
Then, last thing is that OJ Simpson is now out of jail.
Apparently, the first thing he did when released is to hit up the local McDonalds for not 1 but 2 #4.
Shoot - All I know is that a #4 will make you go liquid #2.
Just sayin.
And I hear he is now living it up in a swanky 5000 sqft home on a Las Vegas Golf Course.

I'm not sure what Mr Juice's future plans are, but like ive said in the past - Stay outta trouble man, and live long and prosper or something.
So that’s where were ending todays show. If you liked this video, please don’t forget to subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss out on the current Nostalgia News every week.

I Hope you enjoyed the show and I'll see you in the next video!
Thanks for watching!
