PRINCE Estate Battle News, NES Classic Edition Update, and Back To The F...

Hey Retro Fans!

Welcome to RETRO CRUCH!!  Your weekly RETRO show that is all about Pop Culture, Movies, Music, and Games about all things 70s, 80s, and 90s!

OK my peeps, being as this is season 1, episode 1 or whatever you want to call it, there's been a CRAZY amount of cool retro news over the last few months and I figured, hey, what the HELL - lets kind of get caught up!

And the first thing I want to talk about  is the The Artist Currently and not formerly known as PRINCE.  There's been some updates on his estate battle and just this week, there seems to be a lot of new information coming out about him and his fortune.

A Minnesota judge just named Princes sister and five half-siblings as the heirs to the musicians estate.  There has been an ongoing battle for his fortune and more than 45 people came out of the woodwork to make claims on his assets after his death more than a year ago.

As dirty as his songs were, I sorta felt like he might be my daddy too.  Wait..  What?

Anyways,  this is some good news for Prince fans and those that just want to see his estate    finally   have  some    closure.

And the last news I have about Prince is that some of Prince unreleased songs were scheduled to be released just a few weeks ago and the Prince family has blocked that for now.    And That’s all I have so far on this story, but ill keep you updated as more news unfolds.

And, on to the next royalty.  The Princess of Alderaan, Carrie Fisher passed away from a heart attack.   Ya, I know, it was December 27th, 2016 but I'm not over it, ok?

She was well known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series which debued in 1977 and she made her most recent return to the franchise with the release of The Force Awakens in 2015.

She was only 60 years old and was making a resurgent comeback before the news.

All I can say about this is    We will miss you Carrie    and may the force be with you.

But,hey guys on this story, or the Prince one, im really curious to know your thoughts on losing these huge icons so early.   Do you have a favorite memory of them or do you even care?

Id really like to hear your thoughts on these stories, so if you like to talk about it, you can let me know in the comments section below.

And onto some lighter news, and frankly my favorite to talk about today.  Some fans made a really badass fan-made trailer for Back to the Future 4!!

Although everyone from the originally trilogy has said they wont  come back for a 4th movie, this is still pretty fun to watch!  Ill post a link to it down below so you all can check it out.

And..  Since were talking about REMAKES -  There's been a ton of movies that have recently been released in the last year to include remakes of:   The Magnificent Seven,   Ben Hur,   Petes Dragon,   Ghost Busters,   The Jungle Book,   Legend of Tarzan, and OH MY GOD, too many to count!!  hell..  With so many remakes having been done, I am sure I missed some.  Its a seriously like a  REBOOT Wonderland out there!

And in all honesty, there are many people out there that just don’t want to see these movies rebooted or remade and I get that, you want to preserve the nostalgia of the original and don’t want to see it butchered or horrifically altered -

but I for one kind of enjoy seeing a fresh take on some of the old classics.  So, if you are  like me and like to see these reboots,   what would you like to see redone next,   and for those that are opposed,   id love to hear your thoughts on why?

And last on my list,  but I plan to cover more in a future episode is the coming and going of the famed NES Classic mini.

I barely had a chance to get my hands on one before Nintendo announced they were discontinuing it - those bastards..

For those that were lucky enough to get one, bravo.  CLAP CLAP CLAP   But for those that haven't, there's word that the S NES may be next to be sold by Nintendo, so get your preorder in early and often.

And that’s all I've got for you guys this time.

All That said of course, this is RETRO CRUNCH and remember, if you liked this video and like what im trying to do on this channel, hit that like button and if your new here hit the subscribe button.

So, till next time,  you just keep on keepin on,  keep it real,      and I'll be back  soon, with another video!

Stranger Things Soundtrack Cassette | Duck Tales Returns | Adam West Is ...

Hey guys, Welcome back to RETRO CRUNCH, the nostalgia show that is all about Current Pop Culture, Movies, Music, and Games that relates to all things 70s, 80s, and 90s!
First up! You may wanna break out that old cassette player or vinyl turn table! If you loved the Stranger Things music like I did, it is about to blow you 80s nostalgia mind once more. Starting July 14th at Urban Outfitter, you can get your hands on the stranger things soundtrack on cassette or vinyl record and bump to some of those sick 80s synth music tracks! Ive seen pics of them both and they look sweet!

The ruby red cassette comes in a vintage 80s looking VHS tape sleeve and come to think of it, would look really cool on a book shelf. The vinyl one has some psychedelic art imprinting on the record itself and comes with a cool poster and some cards.
And Next, For those that don’t know, Duck Tales is coming back August 12th and will be airing a new 1 hr premier movie episode for 24 hours consecutively, and after that the newest episodes will officially begin on September 23rd. This new series is based on the original from 1987 and it looks like its going to bring back all the great characters from the show we loved as kids. And.. They even have a new theme song.. that sounds much like the old one. Ill link it down below for your duck tales viewing pleasure.
And we found some MTV gold! Wanna see 78 mins of sheer lo-fi MTV glory, well h h h happy.com has a 78 minute clip from 1982, and all its former glory. This is my favorite MTV treasure find since MTV aired its first 24 hours of programming on VH1 Classic way back in 2006. . Im sure you guys would just love to relive some 80s MTV, so ill post that in the notes down below too!
Also, GLOW, or the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling for you RetroHeads, Is being brought back by Netflix. And this time it’s going to be a 10 episode series loosely based on how GLOW was first created. Ive read the synapsis, and so far what im hearing is, it has a lot of aspects that relate very closely with how it all began.

Although, Sylvester Stalone's mom Jackie was a huge influence on GLOW from the 80s, im not sure if they will use her likeness in this new series or not. But from the previews, it Looks like its going to be good though.
And.. Last, but not least The beloved and greatest Dark Knight, or as he liked to call himself THE WHITE KNIGHT, Adam West died this past week and Oh My God, will it just end please… Im so tired of hearing about the passing of all my favorite childhood stars.. Can I just get 1 month without a loss.. Please! Alright Mr. West, youll be greatly missed, so rock on in that olllll' Bat Pie in the Sky!

Guardians Of The Galaxy Review! Power Rangers Update and RETRO News!

Hey guys and welcome to retro Crunch, today we'll talk about The Guardians of the Galaxy 2, an update on the Power Rangers Movie, we'll talk about CHIPS, and an update on Steven Kings IT, all that and more today on RETRO CRUNCH!

Hey guys, Welcome back to RETRO CRUNCH, the show that is all about Current Pop Culture, Movies, Music, and Games that relates to all things 70s, 80s, and 90s!

So,  Lets not waste any time and start right now!

The first thing I want to talk about is some of the new MOVIES that have come out recently:

Guardians of the Galaxy - I have to say, its pretty good. And Drax the Destroyer took no time making Volume 2 his chance to shine - not to mention he had some of the funniest lines in the movie.

For me, the plot was a little bit confusing to follow, and for the non Marvel fans, it could be hard to understand.  But, that being said, the casting of Kurt Russell as EGO was pretty sweet and  I loved how EGO basically showed his true nature by explaining the lyrics of the song Brandy to Peter.

And then there's the new Music, aptly named Awesome Mix Volume 2.  Right from the beginning of the movie, StarLord has a new cassette for his Sony Walkman and  a badass lineup of songs on it to boot.  Some of my favorites were Fox on the Run, The Chain, and Flash Light.

Also, as if that’s not enough, there's a bonus song that was created just for the film called Guardians Inferno which includes Mr. David Hasselhoff himself.  As much as people dog on the Hoff, the dudes a hellofa good sport and really does add to the fun of the movie.

And next up is the Power Rangers movie, which finally seems to have just about sizzled out.  The Power Rangers first premiered in the US on FOX way back in 1993.  And just for reference, I was a highschooler back then and I still loved watching the show!  But this movie has been a long time coming!  If the 80s kids can have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and Ghostbusters reboots - HEY why not the 90s kids turn to get theirs, right??

Although this movie is no Voltron, and didn’t have the star power of a Marvel movie,  as of May 21st, its made more than 90 Million dollars, so not too shabby!  And Last thing on this - Ultraman would have moved some grass.  Just sayin'

And finally, there's CHIPS.  Ok, where do I start…  This is not my CHIPS, and I don’t think its really trying to be.  The directors definitely decided on the comedic approach and pulled it off pretty well, but it’s a far cry from the original..

It does star Michael Pena as Ponchareli - who I LOVED in AntMan, and also Dax Shephard as Jon who also played in the 2000's medical comedy, SCRUBS.   The original CHIPS series ran from 1977-1983, but this new one looks like its gonna run from MAYBE late March to May and that’s it.

Also, there's some new footage for Steven Kings remake of IT that will be out in theaters September 8th.  Apparently this new footage was presented last week at the MTV Movie awards and really spooked out the audience.  I don’t doubt it though, even the original is pretty creepy.  But Im really stoked to see this movie and cant wait till it comes out.

Plus, for you guys that still sit around in your underroos eating cereal and watching old kid shows, OK, maybe that’s just me, don’t judge.  But anyways - Mister Rogers is Back!  If you grew up watching Mister Rogers or remember it from your childhood, pop on over to Twitch.tv and catch all the episodes in their marathon.  They are running all 886 episodes back to back, courtesy of PBS.

And I have a bonus link from a article just posted by federalist.com.   It lists 20 horrible fashions from the 80s and 90s that are back in style!  Some of the pics are, well…  you'll just have to check them out yourself..   And just in case your interested, ill provide links for everything I've talked about today down below.

And that’s it guys, so If you liked the video, be sure to hit the LIKE button and if your new to the channel, be sure to hit the subscribe button and be sure to leave your comments below about what RETRO topics you'd like to see me cover NEXT!
